1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OmPanchang.in (the "Website") and any related services provided by OmPanchang ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not access or use the Website.

2. Description of Service

OmPanchang provides free access to Vedic panchang calculations, festival calendars, muhurat timings, an encyclopedia of Vedic concepts (nakshatras, tithis, yogas, karanas), a temple directory, and a library of mantras and stotras. We also offer a companion Android application with additional features. Some features may require registration or may be offered as paid premium features in the future.

3. Accuracy of Content

While we strive for accuracy in all panchang calculations and editorial content, OmPanchang is provided for informational and spiritual guidance purposes only. Panchang timings may vary slightly from regional panchangs due to differences in calculation methodology (Amanta vs. Purnimanta, drik vs. vakya systems, and ayanamsa choices). For time-critical religious observances, we recommend consulting a qualified local purohit or your family acharya.

4. Permitted Use

You may use OmPanchang for personal, non-commercial purposes including:

Viewing daily panchang and festival information for your city.
Reading our encyclopedia, blog articles, and other editorial content.
Subscribing to our newsletter for festival reminders and updates.
Sharing links to our pages on social media or in private messages.

5. Prohibited Use

You agree NOT to:

Scrape, crawl, or otherwise systematically extract data from the Website without our written permission.
Republish, redistribute, or commercially exploit our content without attribution and written consent.
Use the Website to transmit spam, malware, or any unlawful, harassing, or objectionable content.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, user accounts, or backend APIs.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on OmPanchang — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio recordings, software, and the compilation thereof — is owned by OmPanchang or licensed to us by our content contributors. Vedic scriptures themselves (the Vedas, Upanishads, Puranas, etc.) are in the public domain; however, our specific translations, transliterations, commentaries, and curations are protected by copyright. You may quote brief excerpts for non-commercial educational purposes with proper attribution to OmPanchang.in.

7. User Contributions

If you submit content to OmPanchang (such as temple reviews, comments, or article suggestions), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content in connection with our services. You represent that you own or have the necessary rights to submit the content, and that it does not violate the rights of any third party.

8. Advertisements

OmPanchang displays advertisements served by third-party ad networks including Google AdSense. We do not control which specific ads are shown to individual users. We do not endorse, and are not responsible for, the products or services advertised. Clicking on an advertisement will take you to a third-party website governed by its own terms and privacy policy.

We do not warrant the accuracy of panchang calculations, festival dates, or other content for any specific purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, OmPanchang and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, business, or goodwill, arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the Website, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (which, for free services, is zero).
