What is Combustion (Asta)?
A planet is said to be combust (Asta) when it is too close to the Sun in the sky — within a specific angular orb that varies by planet. The Sun\'s glare makes the planet invisible to the naked eye, and Vedic astrology interprets this as the planet\'s energy being "burned up" or weakened.
During combustion, a planet\'s significations (e.g. Mercury for communication, Venus for love) may be delayed, frustrated, or expressed in distorted ways. Decisions related to the combust planet are best postponed if possible.
